16mm Film - Alkoholmissbrauch - Dying of Thirst - GB 1975
This film shot in Glasgow shows the pressures placed upon young people by society where alcohol is concerned. The beginning of the film gives an idea of the appeal of alcohol with testimony of young people over a party/disco scene. There are several dramatised sequences such as a car being vandalised and violent confrontations. There's also real footage of teenagers under the influence of alcohol outside clubs, in bars (demonstrating that the idea of booze Britannia is nothing new) and seedier shots of down-and-outs.
