The film presents two case studies: Peter Müller, 37, has been living alone in a Munich park for months—worn down by life, addicted to alcohol, suffering from cancer, without hope. Gustav Zemke, 38, and his fiancée Barbara, 18, on the other hand, are determined to break out of the vicious circle of unemployment, poverty, homelessness, and alcohol abuse together. The conditions of social work are indirectly expressed; the question arises as to how citizens (Christians) behave towards marginalized groups.
