What follows is a montage of documentary footage on the subject of the use of physical force. First, clashes between demonstrators and police officers; in Europe, in America, in Asia, in Africa. They are bludgeoned, kicked, dragged, hit with rifle butts, stoned, gassed, shot. The victims are individuals, defenceless people. Almost imperceptibly, the film switches to shots in which the abuse and harassment of prisoners of war is shown. Then the fury of war, soldiers in the jungle. They spew death in front of them with their flamethrowers. More and more, war technology pushes people out of the picture, bombs rain down from B 52 bombers. From above, you can see the precision with which the carpet of bombs is laid. Tanks are deployed, the dead and wounded are transported away in a hurry. Airplane shot down,rockets: from mobile ramps, from ships, from silos, from submarines. Anti-missile rockets. Launch after launch follows. In between, the result of this use of machines and automatons: burning cities in ruins. The men at the buttons of the death machine have become silhouettes. They wear protective suits. Black goggles cover the eyes of 'Dr. Strangelove', behind the glass panel that has replaced the sandbox of the general staff of yesteryear. And then: mushroom clouds. Finally, the noise of war falls silent. From the heights, the view glides over the destroyed, lifeless city, over the scorched land, on whose hills charred tree stumps stand close together like skeletons.
