The Kern family's teenage son Uwe is throwing a party. Father Rudi Kern casually chats with some of the invited friends. Mr. Kern speaks quite positively about his son's friends to his wife. In the subsequent documentary part of the film, young people talk about what they expect from their boyfriends and girlfriends; Karl Blömer, the former Mister Universe in bodybuilding and Tarzan actor in the Bockmayer cult film 'Jane bleibt Jane', talks about his attitude to strength and masculinity; an ironic song about the strong man, sung by Tanja Berg ('Ich hab dir nie den Himmel versprochen'), helps to lighten up the film. The film consists of 8 sequences of play scenes, puppetry scenes, interviews and a song. 1st play scene: Uwe, the 15-year-old son of the Kern family, throws a party and disappears with a girl in his room (parents' reaction) 2nd puppet show scene with the hand puppets from 'Hello Spencer' on the traditional understanding of roles 3rd interview with male teenagers on their ideas of a girlfriend 4. Interview with bodybuilder and Mister Universe Karl Blömer 5. Interview with girls about their ideas of a boyfriend 6. Song 'Ach so, du bist ein Mann', sung by Tanja Berg alias Ute Kannenberg 7. Play scene: Uwe has a conflict with his girlfriend 8. Conclusion of the song 'Ach so, du bist ein Mann'.
